At the moment Jonathan is published in the UK by Viking Penguin, in America by Knopf, in France by Gallimard, in Italy by Feltrinelli, in Spain by Anagrama, in Holland by De Bezige Bij, in Germany by DVA, in Portugal by Asa, in Greece by Polis Publishers, and in Brazil by Editorial Record.
As far as I know the BBC doesn't plan to do either of these things. The series is available on certain popular torrent sites, and there are some clips on YouTube. See the links on the Other Media page.
I don't know. The book has been continually under option by film and television companies for seventeen years - since before it was even published. From what I've seen, the latest adaptation - written by The League of Gentlemen's Jeremy Dyson - is absolutely superb. Sadly, though, I've just heard that Channel 4 have decided to pass on the project, and will not be commissioning it.
Say Hi To The Rivers And The Mountains is a piece of ‘spoken musical theatre’ – a fifty-minute play for three actors, pop group and (where possible) string quartet. It was written in response to the music of The High Llamas, composed by Sean O’Hagan. See the Other Media page for more details.
9th and 13th is the title of a short story written in the mid-1990s for The Time Out Book of New York Short Stories. It is also the title of a very small collection of my short stories published by Penguin in 2005 (which contains the original story), and also the title of a CD of readings and music I made with Louis Philippe and Danny Manners in 2002. See the Other Media page for more details.
Henry Fielding, BS Johnson, Rosamond Lehmann, Flann O'Brien, Kazuo Ishiguro, Barbara Trapido, Bohumil Hrabal, Haruki Murakami, many others …
I can't tell you how many times I've been asked this question. Fortunately the answer is close at hand: go to the Odds and Ends section of this website and click on ‘Top 27 films’. That's the list I made in May 2009, at any rate.
The one I'm about to write next.
